Why is the focus solely on Muslim and Islamic affairs?
We are committed to ensuring that the recommendations coming out of the Inquiry safeguard all marginalised sections of society. The reason why our proposal is focused on the coverage of Muslim and Islamic affairs in particular is that, for the past decade, the Muslim community has been at the helm of what many have observed is a form of ‘acceptable racism’.
To use a very real and often reported bias against Muslims in particular as a spring board for discussion of racism in general is better achieved by a targeted inquiry into the marginalisation of a section of society at the forefront of racism in the British media for over a decade.
